As the summer heat waves have hit various parts of India, the demand for air conditioners (AC) and refrigerators are on a rise, upon which, the various promotional schemes such as discounts and cashbacks will be pulled back soon. According to reports, the companies are going to withdraw several schemes on televisions, AC, refrigerators and washing machines as the demands pick up. Currently, the demand for washing machines and televisions are sluggish which forced manufacturers to cut prices.

However, the demand for television is taking leverage in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season and during upcoming ICC World Cup, the demand is expected to see momentum. The demand for air conditioners is picking up due to the hot climate. But, the demand for ACs in the Northern part of Indian had seen a dip due to unexpected showers. Asus OMG Days Sale on Flipkart: Get Up To Rs 3000 Discount on Asus Zenfone 5Z, Zenfone Max Pro M1, Zenfone Max M2 & Lite L1.

According to a research report by Emkay, “Washing Machines, Refrigerators, and Television (bigger than 43 inches) continue to see cashback and financing schemes aimed at reducing inventory. Pricing rationality should emerge once demand pick-up is sustainable,” brokerage firm Emkay said in a research report.

Meanwhile, the demand for Room Air Conditioning (RAC) is on a rise and companies are now pulling up promotional schemes. Citing this too, companies have not hiked prices due to tough competition in the industry. However, this doesn't mean that prices will not increase. The Japanese multinational air conditioning manufacturing company, Daikin, has hiked the prices by 8 per cent, when other brands have rarely hiked prices.
