New Delhi, May 13: In a bizarre incident, an Indigo staffer was arrested on Sunday for making a hoax call regarding a bomb in a Mumbai flight. As per details available, the call was made by an IndiGo staffer at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.
According to a tweet by ANI, few Mumbai bound flights from IGI Airport were physically checked. The call was later declared as Hoax.
IndiGo has been in news for the past few months for all wrong reasons. Earlier the airline was in trouble after its ground staff manhandled and dragged a passenger at Delhi Airport after a tiff.
In December 2017, a senior employee of IndiGo airlines was arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for allegedly facilitating gold smuggling via Guwahati airport, an official statement said. The development comes after the DRI officers recently busted a gold smuggling syndicate at the airport.
The DRI had suspected connivance of airlines staff in facilitating gold smuggling. As part of its operation, two persons were arrested on December 21, the statement said.
