Bhubaneswar Ranks 19 Among Global Smart Cities, Singapore is First; Here is The List of Top 20 Cities in Smart City Ranking
In the list, Bhubaneswar has been placed on the 19th position while Singapore has secured the topmost position followed by London, New York and San Francisco. The other cities that have made up to the top ten include Chicago, Seoul, Berlin, Tokyo, Barcelona.
New Delhi, March 14: Bringing laurels to the nation ye again, Odisha's capital city Bhubaneswar has been ranked among the top 20 global smart cities in the world. According to a global study by market researcher Juniper Research, Bhubaneswar is the Indian city which that has found its place in the list of world's Top 20 Smart City List-2017. Bhubaneswar had topped the list of Indian Smart Cities in 2016 too.
In the list, Bhubaneswar has been placed on the 19th position while Singapore has secured the topmost position followed by London, New York and San Francisco. The other cities that have made up to the top ten include Chicago, Seoul, Berlin, Tokyo, Barcelona.
It may be noted that the rankings have been determined by global market researcher Juniper Research after conducting a study titled 'The Global Smart City Performance Index 2017'.

Bhubaneswar’s position among the top cities in the world does not come as a surprise as the city has earned a place for itself at the international level even before. The city has been ranked 13 as far as 'safety' is concerned, apart from coming in at 20th position with respect to Mobility, Health, and Productivity. Reports state that the city became one of the finalists to compete for a position in the World Smart City Expo in 2016.
Odisha’s capital city had earlier won National Planning Excellence and Achievement Awards-2017 awarded by the American Planning Association (APA). Apart from all this, the city had also received the second runners-up spot at the World Smart City Awards-2016 in Barcelona.
