Mumbai, March 28: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said they have not found any evidence against Hindutva leader Sambhaji Bhide in connection with Bhima Koregaon violence case. "There is no role found yet of Sambhaji Bhide in Bhima Koregaon violence case, but investigation is continuing," chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said in the Maharashtra Assembly.
Bhide is accused of instigating violence against Dalits during the 200th-anniversary celebrations of the Bhima Koregaon battle on January 1. During the violence in the Pune district, a person was killed, while many others were left injured. Apart from Bhide, one Milind Ekbote is also accused of playing a role in the violence and has been sent to 14 days judicial custody on March 21. Sambhaji Bhide, however, had denied all the allegations levelled against him.
