Almost a month after flying officer Avani Chaturvedi created history by becoming the first Indian woman fighter pilot to fly a fighter aircraft solo, Bhawana Kanth on Friday managed to do the same and has become India's second solo Fighter pilot to have managed the fighter aircraft alone.
Bhawana Kanth, an Indian Air Force (IAF) officer, managed to achieve this feat after she flew a MiG-21 "Bison" from Ambala Air Force Station at around 2pm on Friday.

The magnitude of the achievement can be gauged by the fact that "Bison" as a fighter jet has the highest landing and fastest take-off speed in the world.
Bhawana Kanth comes from Darbhanga in Bihar and had made news when she cleared the stage I training which made her eligible for joining fighter plane stream.
On February 19, flying officer Avani Chaturvedi created history by becoming the first Indian woman fighter pilot to fly a fighter aircraft solo. She flew a MiG-21 Bison in her first training solo sortie, in Jamnagar, Gujarat. And now, Bhawana Kanth has achieved this feat too. This splendid achievement by both the female pilots is bound to encourage innumerable girls in the country to aim high and fly high.
