Aurangzeb, the Army Man Who Was Abducted by Terrorists, Found Dead at Gusoo in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama

On Thursday morning, around 9 am, army men from the unit stopped a car asking the driver to drop Aurangzeb in Shopian. The militants stopped the vehicle as it approached Kalampora and abducted the jawan.

Jammu, June 14: The body of Army man Aurangzeb Khan, who was abducted by terrorists from Pulwama district, has been found at Gusoo, Pulwama. More details on the same are awaited. On Thursday morning, around 9 am, army men from the unit stopped a car asking the driver to drop Aurangzeb in Shopian. The militants stopped the vehicle as it approached Kalampora and abducted the jawan.

The kidnapped jawan was posted in the militant stronghold of Shopian in south Kashmir. He was part of the commando unit which killed Hizbul's Sameer Tiger in an encounter in April.

According to an official statement from the Army, Aurangzeb, a jawan of 44 Rashtriya Rifles was abducted from Shopian district by militants. The attack took place while he was on his way back home on leave. Officials inform that Aurangzeb was a Rajouri resident and was proceeding on leave for Eid when he was abducted.

A similar incident has taken place in May 2017 where terrorists kidnapped a young Lieutenant of Rashtriya Rifles, Ummer Fayaz, while he was attending a wedding in his family in Shopian. Reports further informed that Fayaz's bullet-riddled body was found the next day.
