Aurangabad Violence: Section 144 Imposed in the City, Hundreds of Shops and Vehicles Gutted

Aurangabad, May 12: In a shocking incident, at least 100 shops were gutted and vehicles were set on fire in Maharashtra's Aurangabad city after a clash broke out between two groups in Aurangabad. As per reports, the violence that erupted on Friday night took place over water in the city. As per initial reports, one person has been killed but it is yet to be confirmed by authorities or law enforcement agencies.
In wake of the clash, Section 144 which prohibits assembly of more than 4 people in an area has been imposed across the city. Meanwhile, internet services have also been suspended in the city. Reports inform that Police use teargas shells to control the violent mob in the city last night. Aurangabad CP Milind Bharambe has appealed for peace and has ensured that the situation has been brought under control.
In wake of the clash, Asaduddin Owaisi, President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen said his party will provide all the necessary aid. "I have requested Advocate Khizar Patel to ensure that people whose shops are burned/damaged must give a complaint to concerned PS & get FIR registered , MIM party will inshallah provide Aid & relief through its MIM relief Trust but request people to maintain peace", Owaisi tweeted.
On Friday, another incident was reported from Aurangabad where a 40-year-old vegetable vendor received a massive electricity bill of Rs 8.64 lakh for April. He allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling at his residence at Bharat Nagar here on Thursday morning.
As per details by Police, a suicide note found on the man read that he was ending his life after having received the exorbitant bill. According to a TOI report, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) said it has suspended a billing clerk for the error.
