Alternate Routes Advised by Mumbai Traffic Police During BJP Chief Amit Shah Rally in Mumbai at BKC; Read Details

Mumbai, April 05: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah is scheduled to address a rally in Mumbai on April 6, which also happens to be the party’s foundation day. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Mumbai BJP President Ashish Shelar along with other state leaders will be present alongside during the rally. The public rally will take place at MMRDA Ground, at Bandra-Kurla (BKC) Complex.

Keeping in mind, the huge attendance that is speculated to be present at the BJP Chief Amit Shah's rally, the Traffic Control Branch, Mumbai Police, has issued advisories to avoid commotion and heavy traffic. The Traffic Police has made certain arrangements for the entire day, to ensure smooth traffic movement outside the MMRDA ground and nearby areas.

The press note released by the Mumbai Traffic Police also mentioned strict guidelines for vehicles and general commuters. Where the entry of heavy vehicles and good carriers were restricted at some entry points in the city, the common public was advised to take alternate available routes.

As per the traffic advisory note issued by Traffic Police, heavy vehicles’ and good carriers’ entry at Anandnagar Check Naka (Mulund East), Modela Check Naka (Mulund West), Airoli Check Naka, and Vashi Check Neka will be restricted.

In its press note, the Traffic Police also cautioned the commuters saying, “Traffic congestion is likely to occur on approach roads from Western Express Highway and Eastern Express Highway towards BKC. Commuters are (sic) advised to avoid SCLR, Surve Junction on LBS Road, Sion Junction, Dharavi T-Junction, Hansbhurga Marg, CST Road, Nehru Road till Ambedkar Junction, Shardadevi Road, as far as possible.”

Alternate traffic-routes advised by Traffic Police during Amit Shah’s rally in Mumbai are:

Eastern Suburbs: JVLR, LBS Road, and Eastern Highway.

Western Suburbs: S.V Road, and Linking Road.
