Lucknow, June 3: Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, was spotted riding a bicycle to Gomti riverfront and was seen meeting morning walkers on Sunday. This comes a day after he vacated the government bungalow as directed by the Supreme Court. Akhilesh, who spent the night at the VVIP guest house was seen dressed in a white kurta-pyjama and was spotted clicking selfies with people at the riverfront.

According to reports, Akhilesh stopped to play cricket with a group of youngsters. While speaking to the morning walkers on the Gomti riverfront, Akhilesh said that he will keep a check on the projects that his government had built. It must be noted that the Gomti riverfront was one of the ambitious projects of Samajwadi Party government.

On May 7, the Supreme Court had said former chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh cannot retain government accommodation after demitting office. The UP government on May 17 then issued notices to Narayan Dutt Tiwari, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Kalyan Singh, Mayawati, Rajnath Singh and Akhilesh Yadav to vacate the bungalows.

Reports inform that Akhilesh has also been to the Janeshwar Mishra Park which is again another ambitious project of the Samajwadi Party government.  Earlier on Saturday evening, Akhilesh went to Janeshwar Mishra Park, another ambitious project of the Samajwadi Party government.

The Samajwadi Party chief on Wednesday began shifting out of his government house ahead of the June 2 deadline given to six former chief ministers to vacate the houses allotted to them. Meanwhile, SP spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said Akhilesh would vacate his bungalow by Saturday. Earlier, Akhilesh and Mulayam had moved the Supreme Court seeking time to vacate their bungalows.
