Malakpet, May 14: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Legislator Ahmed Bilal along with his party workers attacked a man accused of attempting to rape a six-year-old girl child at Chanderghat Police Station, Malakpet in Hyderabad. The entire incident of the fight between the MLA, party workers and the arrested accused is captured in a 23-second video tweeted by the ANI.

MLA Ahmed Balala angry over the incident said police should make sure the culprit gets punished and never comes out of jail. "In this case, if the accused comes out, people will take action against him," Balala said after meeting the police, as quoted by the Times of India. 

The accused named Sayed Ismail, in a bid to rape a six-year-old girl, called her at his residence in the pretext of playing with her at Waheed Nagar in Malakpet on Friday evening. Soon as the girl entered the house, he took the opportunity and tried to rape her, however, as the girl screamed for help, all the neighbours came rushing and rescued her.

Following neighbours' complaint, the accused has been arrested and booked by the Chanderghat police station of Hyderabad under the charges of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act. Also, he was produced before the court and sent to Judicial custody, as per news reports.
