Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train Ticket Price Range to be Between Rs 250-3000; First Train To Run By 2022!
The proposed bullet train is slated to run 500 km between Ahmedabad and Mumbai, at a top speed projected at 320 km/hr. The first bullet train is expected to run by the year 2022.
Mumbai, April 14: The speculations of high ticket prices for Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet trains were nullified by Achal Khare, Managing Director of National High-Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL), on Saturday. Khare said that as per present calculations and projections, a passenger will have to pay Rs 250 to Rs 3,000 depending on their choice of destination.
A regular taxi charges Rs 650 approximately for the journey from Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Thane and takes over one and half hours. However, with the introduction of bullet trains, the time during the journey would be cut down to only 15 minutes, and it would only charge Rs 250!
The time taken by a flight traveller is comparatively higher if the time is taken to the trip to the airport, taking boarding passes, and security clearances are taken into consideration.
The Managing Director of NHSRCL also said that the bullet train will have 10 standard coaches and also have a business-class coach, where the fares would be a bit higher than Rs 3,000. There will be complimentary food provided in the business class; however, the food will be chargeable in other coaches.
Talking to the media persons, Achal Khare informed that the bullet train will cover over 70-trips per day between Ahmedabad-Mumbai. He said that they will be looking forward to maintaining the standards maintained by Japan’s bullet trains and that, if there occurs a delay, it would not be more than 40 seconds.
The route proposed for the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train will start from Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. The other stoppages would be at Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Baroda, Anand, Sabarmati and Ahmedabad. The proposed bullet train is slated to run 500 km between Ahmedabad and Mumbai, at a top speed projected at 320 km/hr. The first bullet train is expected to run by the year 2022.
