Hyderabad, April 27: After the successful operation against Naxals in Gadcchiroli, Maharashtra, there is another setback for Maoists in Chhattisgarh. According to news reports, the security forces shot dead seven rebels in Elimidi, Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh on Friday morning during a joint combing operation with Grey Hounds teams of a Telangana.
The news reports further claimed that a senior Maoist leader Bandi Prakash, memetic of a Telangana State Committee is believed to be among the seven dead Maoists. However, the news of his death is yet to be confirmed by the police officials.
The security forces raided a place, about 12 km from Telangana border, and a violent gun battle ensued between the Maoists and security forces in which seven Maoists were killed. The combing operation is still continuing, according to a news report.
Last week, the Maoists party received a severe jolt in Gadchiroli of Maharashtra when an anti-Naxal force C-60 raided a Naxal camp and killed 39 Maoist.
