New Delhi, June 30: The deadline to link the permanent account number (PAN) with Aadhaar - the unique biometric identification number - ends today, June 30. As of now, the government has announced no further extension in deadline.

Aadhaar-PAN Linking Deadline: Last Day Today, Here's How to Link in Simple Ways
PAN card holders who are yet to link their account number with Aadhaar need not panic. Here are two simple ways to complete the process within minutes:
Linking online via incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in: On the homepage of income tax-e-filing website, a hyperlink has been provided to link the Aadhaar with PAN. On the page which appears, click on 'Link Aadhaar'. On the new form which appears, enter the name (as printed on the Aadhaar card), UID number and PAN. After putting the captcha code, click on submit.
Linking via Mobile SMS: PAN holders can send an SMS at 56767 or 56161 in the following format: UIDPAN <SPACE> <12-digit Aadhaar> <SPACE> <10-digit PAN>.
For filing the income tax returns (ITRs) at the end of July, linkage of PAN with Aadhaar is mandatory. In case the filing of ITRs is delayed, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) can impose a levy of upto Rs 10,000.
