7th Pay Commission: Salary of Central Government Employees to Increase After Union Budget 2023? Check Latest Update on Fitment Factor

Delhi, January 5: The New year 2023 has started and the central government employees are also expecting good news from the government which can result in salary hike for them. The central government employees are hopeful that the government may soon announce the revision of the Fitment Factor on 7th pay commission recommendations after the union budget 2023.

The employees union have been demanding for a hike in the fitment factor across various pay bands for a long time. The demand has been to raise the fitment factor from 2.57 times to 3.68 times. Now according to a report in AajTak, the government can take a decision on the fitment factor hike after this year's Union Budget 2023. If the government considers this demand, then the employees will get huge benefits. The last time when the fitment factor was increased, the minimum salary of the employees went straight from Rs 6000 to Rs 18,000. On the other hand, if the government increases it once again on 7th pay commission recommendations then the minimum salary of the employees will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. 7th Pay Commission News Today: 4% DA Hike, Change in Formula of Dearness Allowance Calculation Likely on Holi 2023

The salary of the employees excluding allowances currently is 18,000 X 2.57 = Rs 46,260.  If the centre accept the demands of the employees, then the salary will be 26000 X 3.68 = Rs 95,680. If the Centre accepts a 3 times hike in fitment factor, then the salary will be 21000 X 3 = Rs 63,000.

According to the 7th Pay Commission's recommendations, the fitment factor is currently 2.57. With effect starting on July 1, 2022, the central government has already raised the dearness allowance (DA) for central employees from 34 per cent to 38 per cent.
