7th Pay Commission Increment: Pension of Retired Faculty & Non-Teaching Staff in Central Universities and Colleges to be Revised
This move of government will benefit approximately 8 lakh teachers and 15 lakh non –teaching staff who retired from State Public Universities and affiliated colleges, who wish to adopt or have adopted pay scales prescribed for Central Universities tweeted HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar.
New Delhi, June 12: Retired teachers and non teaching staff have something to cheer about after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government decision to revise the pension of the retired faculty and the non-teaching staff in Central Universities and colleges going by the recommendation of the 7th Central Pay Commission. According to news reports, the Centre's decision will prove beneficial for close to 23 lakh retired teachers and non-teaching staff in universities.
The Financial Express reported that the implementation of the decision will help the present pensioners of the Central Universities. The decision will help around 25,000 pensioners. The increase in amount will be from the range of Rs 6000 to 18,000 according to media reports.
Union HRD Minister Prakash Javdekar tweeted saying that the government has revised pension of retired faculty & other non-teaching staff in Central Universities and Colleges as per the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
He also tweeted that around 25000 pensioners will benefit in Central Universities by the decision.
