Mumbai, May 31: Committing a crime, as heinous as a murder, is more than just an unlawful act. It not only violates an individual’s right to life but also shows how low a human stoop to satiate his or her greed! Well, imagine a scenario where one commits a murder, thinking that they will be a crorepati, but eventually, they realise that they haven’t been able to walk away with a penny even! How stupid does it sound?

Well, this is what exactly happened in a murder case that went horribly wrong. The Navi Mumbai Police, investigating the matter said that it was a case of silly misunderstanding which led to the crime being committed. So, what was the silly understanding that led to a murder of a 70-year-old woman?

A group of three people – 27-year-old Vijay Bansode (key accused), 21-year-old Atul Kamble (accomplice), and 33-year-old Yallapa Hadimani – have been arrested by the police so as to kill a woman on the pretext of she owning ‘cr’ore of rupees.

As per a Times of India report, the alleged killer, Vijay Bansode, was working at an agency, in Turbhe, that offered services dealing with Aadhar and PAN cards. There, Hande (victim) had submitted him her passbook as her address proof. Things went wrong when Bansode mistook the ‘cr’ written in her passbook for ‘crore’, in the balance. Isn’t it foolish?

Well, it is. How foolish would be a person who would commit a murder on the pretext of someone owning a crore of rupees, seeing ‘cr’ – the abbreviation for credit – on the balance side of the passbook?

A police officer said that the crime took place on May 17, when the key accused and his accomplices killed her at her house. The trio went to her house a fortnight ago and stolen 15 tolas of Gold and cash money of Rs. 15,000.
