A 16-year-old boy in Mumbai's Dombivli locality committed suicide after his father beat him and his mother. According to reports, Himanshu Telang, a 16-year-old student used to get beaten up by his father regularly. Not only this, the father also used to physically abuse the mother of the boy which played a role in the teenager taking the extreme step.

Himanshu Telang, who used to reside at Amrut Shrushti building at Sunil Nagar, located in Dombivli, was beaten on Monday by his father, Umesh Telang, a 42-year-old small time businessman. According to reports, Umesh also subjected the boy's mother to cruelty after which the boy rushed out of the house and jumped from sixth floor of his building.

The neighbors who witnessed and noticed the incident rushed to the spot and alerted police about it after he was rushed to the hospital. A police officer from Dombivli police station was quoted saying by an English daily that the boy suffered major internal injuries and was declared dead by the hospital. It was after this that the mother of the boy, Kavita, lodged a complaint against her husband and her in-laws, confirmed the police officer.

V Pawar, a senior police inspector said that they checked with the neighbours and the friends of the boy who confirmed that the boy was under a lot of pressure and tension because his father used to thrash him and his mother quite often. The police also added the Himanshu used to be badly tortured by his father. A post-mortem was conducted after which the body of the boy was handed to the family members.
