A month back, a similar thing had happened, when an IndiGo airline worker angry over a job termination notice decided to teach the company a lesson
Mumbai, June 19: A man has been detained for allegedly making a hoax bomb call after missing a Jaipur-Mumbai Indigo flight. According to a PTI report, the man has been identified as Mohit Kumar Tank (24), a choreographer with a dance reality show. Earlier in the day, he made a call to the IndiGo call centre saying that a bomb has been planted in Jaipur-Mumbai 6E 218 flight.
The flight was already in the air when the call was received. Security people at the airport got hassled, after receiving the news. However, after a thorough investigation, it was found that the bomb threat call was a hoax.
Earlier in the day, according to an ANI report, IndiGo in a statement said " We immediately reported the matter to Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) & followed all security protocols. The concerned authorities carried out the investigation & declared the call as specific bomb threat. Following clearance, operations will be resumed as normal."
A month back, a similar thing had happened, when an IndiGo airline worker angry over a job termination notice decided to teach the company a lesson. The customer care officer, therefore, made a hoax call of a bomb being planted in a Mumbai-bound IndiGo flight to take revenge. The man on being arrested said that he was 'depressed' and 'frustrated' with his employer.
