IndiGo Back In Trouble: Offloads Heart Surgeon Dr Saurabh Rai in Lucknow After he Complained of Mosquitoes Inside Aircraft
IndiGo has stated that, the passenger was offloaded on grounds of unruly behaviour.
IndiGo is back in trouble and this time for offloading a heart surgeon Dr Saurabh Rai travelling in flight 6E 541 at Lucknow Airport last evening. Reportedly, this was done after the passenger complained of mosquitoes inside the aircraft and all the staff could do was to curtly ask him to take another flight to Bengaluru.
According to a report on ANI, IndiGo has issued a statement, highlighting about the incident. "The passenger was offloaded on grounds of unruly behaviour. He expressed concerns over mosquitoes on board. Before cabin crew could address his concerns he became aggressive & used threatening language. As matter escalated after closure of the aircraft doors, he attempted to instigate other passengers on board to damage the aircraft & used words such as ‘hijack’. Hence, keeping in mind applicable safety protocols crew apprised pilot-in-command, who decided to offload him"
Surprisingly, just one day prior to the incident, renowned journalist Neelesh Misra also complained of too many mosquitoes at the Lucknow Airport. He tweeted about the same.
This is not the first time that IndiGo has been caught in the wrong side. Last November, Indigo had to apologise to a passenger, Ms Urvashi Parikh Viren, after she fell off her wheelchair while being assisted by its staff at Lucknow airport. Last year in October, the airline hogged the negative limelight after a video went viral and garnered immense noise on social media. A passenger was seen manhandling by its staff at the Delhi Airport. Last month, India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA) cracked their whip on IndiGo for using faulty Pratt & Whitney engines. As a result of which, several flights were cancelled. It seems, the woes for the airline, don't seem to take a backseat.
