New Delhi, Mar 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and other top political leaders recalled the sacrifice of Jesus Christ as Christians across the nation observe Good Friday today.
The day commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus -- considered by Christians of all denominations as the supreme sacrifice for the mankind. All Christian sects, including Anglican, Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Lutheran, Methodist, Oriental Orthodox and Reformed observe the day with fasting and visit to the church.
Here is what PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi and others tweeted on Good Friday:
On Good Friday we recall the courage and compassion of Lord Christ. He dedicated his life to serving others and removing injustice, pain as well as unhappiness from society.
