Gold Rates Slip Ahead of Dhanteras, Diwali 2018, Taking Cue From International Market

Gold prices in the international market, slipped to a more than two-week low on Wednesday as Asian stocks gained and the dollar touched multi-month highs on upbeat US economic data.

New Delhi, October 31: The gold prices have slipped today marginally ahead of Dhanteras and Diwali in November. 10-gram 22-carat gold price today is at Rs 31,400, down Rs 50 as compared to Tuesday's price. On the other hand, 24-carat gold price for 10 gram has also slipped by Rs 50 and is at Rs 33,400.  Both on Monday and Tuesday, gold rates had increased, on the back of a spike in demand in the market. According to a Reuters report, in global markets, gold prices slipped to a more than two-week low on Wednesday as Asian stocks gained and the dollar touched multi-month highs on upbeat US economic data.

MCX Gold futures traded up by Rs 27 at Rs 31,864 per 10 gm around 11:45 am on Wednesday. The gold demand last week remained muted as a recent rally in domestic prices prompted buyers to postpone purchases.
