Visakhapatnam, October 15: As the Navaratri festival has kickstarted with full gusto, the goddess at Sri Kanyaka Parameswari temple is decorated with gold ornaments worth crores this year. The organising committee said that jewellery worth Rs 4.5 crore was gifted and Rs 2.5 crore was gifted as currency notes to decorate the temple interiors. According to an ANI report, on the auspicious occasion of Devi Navaratri Vustavalu, the idol is wrapped with gold jewellery and decorated with new currency notes of every possible denomination.

Indian as well as foreign currency notes were used to decorate the walls of the temple. Reportedly, 200 devotees have contributed in gold and cash this year.
