Mumbai, July 19: A 53-year-old businessman has been charged under Section 377 of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) for engaging in sex with a minor. The accused was arrested on the basis of sex chats saved on the minor's phone. According to a Hindustan Times report, in the month of June, the minor's boy found out that her son was on a dating app, which is popular with homosexual men.
She had also seen a man leaving her house from the front door. On asking her son about it, it was then that she came to know of the dating app. The minor boy was taken to a counsellor, who suggested filing an FIR. The boy also cooperated in the investigation
Last month, Police arrested the man whom the mother had seen leaving from the front door of their house. Recently, a second arrest was made based on the sex chats retrieved from the minor's phone, another man was also allegedly involved in having sexual relationship with the boy. Under Section 377, homosexuality is criminalised, and it is currently being debated at the Supreme Court.
