Lucknow, July 9: Dreaded criminal and gangster Munna Bajrangi was shot dead in the early hours of the day inside the district jail in Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh. He was supposed to be produced before a court in Baghpat today. Bajrangi whose real name is Prem Prakash Singh was transferred Jhansi to Baghpat on Sunday.

Commenting on Gangster Munna Bajrangi's death, Yogi Adityanath said, "Ordered a judicial inquiry and suspension of the jailor. Such an incident occurring inside jail premises is a serious matter. Will conduct an in-depth investigation and strict action to be taken against those responsible."

According to reports, his wife Seema in a press conference held on June 29,  had requested the UP CM Adityanath that her husband's life was in danger. According to an ANI report, he said, "A conspiracy is being hatched to kill him in a fake encounter." She had highlighted that her husband was on the hit list of UP police.

Police suspect that Bajrangi was shot dead by Sunil Rathi, another dreaded criminal lodged in the same jail. More details on the same are awaited. Investigation team had arrived at District Jail Baghpat where Gangster Munna Bajrangi has been shot dead.
