Mumbai, July 27: Gangster Abu Salem has sent a legal notice to makers of 'Sanju' movie. According to an ANI report, he has alleged defamation to filmmakers Raju Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and others involved in the film. The notice further states that there are several wrong information about him in the movie, and it needs to be deleted within 15 days, failing which, he will file a defamation case against them. Salem also wants an apology from the filmmakers because his reputation has been tarnished.

The legal notice is about a scene in Sanju, where Ranbir Kapoor, playing the character of Sanjay Dutt, confesses about possessing arms and ammunition during communal tension in 1993.

According to a Times of India report, the notice claimed that Salem never supplied arms and ammunition to Dutt, and in fact has never met him. He has alleged that the film  contents were “extremely insinuating, disparaging and defamatory attacking the reputation of Salem."
