New Delhi, October 30: Fuel prices continue to slip for the 13th straight day. Petrol prices have decreased by (Rs 0.20) to Rs 79.55 per litre and diesel prices are at Rs 73.78 per litre, down (Rs 0.07). On Monday, petrol prices in Mumbai slipped below Rs 80-mark after a long time. The petrol and diesel prices in Mumbai today are at Rs 85.04 per litre (decrease by Rs 0.20) and Rs 77.32 per litre (decrease by Rs 0.08), respectively. In Kolkata too, the prices have slipped marginally, a litre of petrol will cost you Rs 81.43, down 0.2 paise, and diesel is at Rs 75.63, down 0.07 paise. In Chennai, a litre of petrol will cost you Rs 82.65, down 0.21 paise, and diesel is at Rs 78, down 0.08 paise.
On October 4, the government announced a cut in excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 1.50 per litre each and asked state-owned fuel retailers to subsidise by another Re 1 a litre by reducing their margins.
