Mumbai, November 12: The fuel rates in the country continue to fall, petrol in Delhi at Rs 77.56 per litre (decrease by Rs 0.17) and diesel at Rs 72.31 per litre (decrease by Rs 0.15), respectively. On the other hand, petrol in Mumbai is at Rs 83.07 per litre (decrease by Rs 0.17) and diesel at Rs 75.76 (decrease by Rs 0.16). Price of a litre of petrol in Kolkata is today at Rs 79.49, down 0.16 paise, and diesel is at Rs 74.17 per litre. In Chennai, the petrol price is at Rs 80.56/ litre and diesel is at Rs 76.43/litre.
According to reports, fuel prices were last increased on 16 October. Since then daily prices have either remained static or have decreased. According to a Bloomberg report, International crude oil prices declined about 20 percent from their October high. Brent crude oil slipped to its lowest since early April, down more than 18 percent since reaching a four-year high at the beginning of October. Some of the states also reduced VAT following the central government's price cut which made the fuel prices go down by Rs 5 in some of the states.
