Mumbai, October 29: After many months of surging fuel rates, the petrol prices in Delhi have finally slipped below Rs 80 mark. For the 12th straight day, the fuel prices have fallen, with petrol registering a decline of 30 paise and diesel by 20 paise in Delhi. Petrol in the state is at Rs 79.75 per litre and diesel is being sold at Rs 73.85 per litre. Petrol & diesel prices in Mumbai today are Rs 85.24 per litre (decrease by Rs 0.30) & Rs 77.40 per litre (decrease by Rs 0.21), respectively. Petrol, Diesel Prices Slashed After Long Period, Some Relief to Consumers.

In Kolkata, a litre of petrol is being sold at Rs 81.63, down 0.29 paise. On the other hand, a litre of diesel will cost you Rs 75.70, down 0.2 paise. In Chennai, the petrol price is at Rs 82.86, down 0.32 paise, and a litre of diesel is at Rs 78.08, down 0.21 paise.

The international oil prices have fallen, and the rupee has also started appreciating, these two factors have brought down fuel prices to two-month low. On October 4, the government announced a cut in excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 1.50 per litre each and asked state-owned fuel retailers to subsidise by another Re 1 a litre by reducing their margins.
