Fuel Prices Continue To Rise! Petrol And Diesel Rates Maximum in Mumbai Among Metros; Transporters Threaten Strike
Transporters have threatened to increase freight charges by 10-15 percent, if there is a further hike in diesel rates.
Mumbai, September 3: The price of petrol in Mumbai has touched Rs 86.56/litre, an (increase by Rs 0.31/litre) and diesel prices have shot to Rs 75.54/litre (increase by Rs 0.44/litre). This is not only a new high for the city but also the steepest in any of the major metro cities.
In Delhi, the petrol prices are at Rs 79.15/litre (increase by Rs 0.31/litre) and diesel is at Rs 71.15/litre (increase by Rs 0.39/litre) in Delhi.
The September 2 rates for petrol in Kolkata was Rs 81.76 and Rs 81.92 in Chennai. According to a Times of India report, people are fed up with the price hike and transporters have threatened to go on a strike if there is no reduction or control in the rates. Transporters have threatened to increase freight charges by 10-15 percent, if there is a further hike in diesel rates.
