New Delhi, October 24: An FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) student of 2016 batch wrote a letter to I&B Ministry complaining against Director of FTII Bhupendra Kainthola for 'creating a hostile work environment' for her, 'intimidating her' and 'obstructing her work in FTII' because she raised her 'voice against sexual harassment'.I&B Ministry Nominates Kangana Ranaut, Anup Jalota, Arvind Swami, Rajkumar Hirani For FTII Society - See Full List of Nominees Here.

According to an ANI report, Bhupendra Kainthola has denied the allegations and has said, "It's unfortunate that she released a statement unnecessarily dragging FTII's Internal Committee into an academic matter involving her. An action was taken as she was found guilty of professional misconduct by the Inquiry Committee."

As per an Indian Express report, the girl in her complaint stated that her harassment started after she testified against a faculty member who was accused of sexual harassment by three women students in September last year. In August this year, the complainant was punished with expulsion for an entire semester for “professional misconduct” and “academic indiscipline” during the production of an academic project.
