Five Students of Chennai Govt. School Attempt to Do Suicide After Teacher's Humiliation
Standard 9th students of Chennai government school attempt to do suicide, after their school teacher behaved with them badly
Chennai, April 19: In a shocking incident, five students of standard 9th in Chennai government school attempt to commit suicide by eating poisonous seeds. According to news report, the five students took this extreme step as their school teacher behaved with them badly, and humiliated them. However, condition of all five students is said to be stable by the doctors. They have been admitted to a government run hospital for medical treatment.
Earlier too, such unfortunate incidents had been reported. On November 25, 2017, similar incidents took place were four students took extreme step. They jumped in well in Thiruvananthapuram because one of their school teacher scold them for getting low marks in their exams. While in this recent incident the five students been scolded by their English teacher for not studying properly, and that had forced them to go into depression. Sadly such kind of incidents only reflect the growing miscommunication between the teaching staff and students. However, activist time and again have appealed the government to conduct regular counselling of students especially of class 9th, and 10th standard, but their demand seems to be falling on deaf ears.
Also, the news report states that the English teacher used some inappropriate words in front of the entire classroom for these five students in particular, and eventually they were embarrassed and hence, took this extreme step.
