First Robot at Airport: RADA, Artificial Intelligence-powered Robot by Vistara, Installed at Delhi Airport to Assist Passengers

New Delhi, July 7: An Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered robot RADA has been installed at at Terminal 3 of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. RADA, made by Vistara, which a joint venture between Tata Sons Limited and Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA), can scan boarding passes and provide information on departure gates.

"Meet RADA, India's first airport assistance robot. From addressing your travel queries to helping you pick your next destination, you can now interact with RADA at our exclusive Delhi T-3 lounge! Here are some photos of fans meeting RADA," Vistara tweeted on Saturday.

“It greets customers and interacts with them using basic hand movements, and is capable of moving around in the lounge on predefined pathways. Additionally, it can engage with kids and adults alike by playing games and other multimedia content such songs and videos,” Vistara said in a statement in May.

According to the airline, RADA will be further developed over a period of time in terms of functionality and features for future use cases, after gauging customer feedback.
