Jammu, June 8: Budgam 'human shield' victim, Farooq Ahmad Dar (29) who was in news in April 2017 claims to have rejected an offer from reality TV show Bigg Boss Season 12. Yes, you read it right! Dar was reportedly offered Rs 50 lakh to become a participant in Bigg Boss, but he rejected the offer. “I was offered ₹50 lakh by Big Boss producers in July last year. They even told me that tickets for me were ready”, Dar was quoted in a report by The Hindu.

The report further states that the offer from the reality show comes just three months after Dar’s video images of him tied to an Army jeep and paraded in several villages went viral on social media. Those images drew instant criticism in the Valley.

For the unversed, Farooq Dar had made headlines last year after an Army Major tied him to a jeep as a human shield. Reports quote Dar saying that he refused the offer as he wanted to continue his fight for compensation with the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) in Kashmir.

Reports inform that when officials of Colors, the channel that telecasts the reality show were asked regarding the same, they said it was merely a speculation. However, there is no official statement by the channel in this regard.

To recall, the Jammu and Kashmir human rights commission had directed the state government to pay a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to Dar, who was used as a "human shield" by an Army man against stone-pelters. However, the state government had rejected the SHRC recommendation for Rs 10 lakh compensation to Dar.
