Mumbai, November 5: According to a survey by citizen engagement platform LocalCircles, out of every five products sold on e-commerce platforms, one is fake. The chances of counterfeit products are maximum for cosmetics and fragrances, according to the survey, that was shared exclusively with Times of India.  Fake Products on Amazon India! 20 percent of the people admitted they had received fake products in the last six months. Some even said that they wouldn't know, if the products they received where fake or original. Commenting on the question on which e-comm company ships the highest percentage of fake products, 37 percent of the respondents said Snapdeal, 22 percent said Flipkart, 21 percent Paytm Mall, and 20 percent said Amazon.

The e-commerce companies on being asked, what action do they take to arrest the sale of fake products, said that they de-list sellers once it's proven that they shipped counterfeit products. The survey has come up at a time, when the e-commerce companies are on the final leg of their marketing campaign. Globally, as well, brands like Alibaba, Amazon are facing the issue of counterfeit products.
