Mumbai, August 13: Delhi High Court has ordered Amazon Seller Services to delist sellers selling counterfeit products on its platform. This comes after lifestyle brand Beverly Hills Polo Club said that Amazon was selling fake products like- belts, perfumes, apparel products, and others on the e-commerce platforms, according to reports. In a ruling, HC reportedly said that “The defendant shall remove forthwith from its platform any URLs which are pointed out by the plaintiff which are selling products in violation of the plaintiff’s right.”
According to a report in the Economic Times, the lawyers for Beverly Hills Polo Club said that once they sent legal notices to Amazon, the latter took down some URLs. However, other fresh ones started showing up after a few days.
Lifestyle Equities CV, Beverly Hills Polo Club's parent company has an agreement with Cloudtail to sell perfumes and fragrances online, and the company doesn't sell anything other than the above-mentioned products online. Last year Skechers had filed cases in the Delhi High Court against Flipkart and four other sellers for selling fake products with the company's name.
