Jammu & Kashmir, August 29: According to the latest update, two terrorists have been killed in an encounter that started in Anantnag's Munward are in Jammu & Kashmir. Arms, ammunition have been recovered and as per the latest ANI update, a search operation is underway. According to a PTI report, a top Hizbul Mujahideen militant was among two ultras killed in an encounter with security forces. Altaf Kachru, one of the oldest Hizbul Mujahideen militants operating in the Kashmir Valley was killed in the operation. He was involved in many cases including the killing of policemen. The second militant was yet to be identified
Earlier there were reports that 1-2 terrorists are believed to be trapped inside. Police, Army and CRPF were carrying out the operations. According to reports, the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Muniward village at the district, 60 km from Srinagar, on getting information that few terrorists are hiding in the area.

Earlier this month, the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore area have gunned down two terrorists. According to media reports, the two terrorists were shot dead in an encounter at Drusu village in Sopore district, which is some 50 kilometres from capital Srinagar.
