West Bengal Board Exam 2019: WBCHSE Extends Class 12 Uccha Madhyamik Examination Time Due to Bad Weather

West Bengal is hosting board examination for class 10 and class 12 candidates at various centres across the state. After six days of the continuous leak of West Bengal Board class 10 question papers, the WB Board has banned use of mobile phones in the examination centre for teachers to continue. The state is also facing unpleasant weather for the past two days and hence decided to extend the exam time depending on the circumstances. According to the latest notification, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has revised the time for class 12 board exam for February 28. JKBOSE Board Exam 2019 Postponed Amid India-Pakistan Tension. 

On February 28, the WBCHSE class 12 Uccha Madhyamik candidates have appeared in English (B), Bengali (B), Hindi (B), Nepali (B), Alternative English. The state is witnessing a heavy rainfall and thunderstorm due to which many parts are waterlogged from dawn. Hence, the council decided to extend today’s exam time. The notification reads, “All the District Inspector of Schools (SE) of the districts are requested to inform the Centre Committee and the Joint Conveners that due to heavy rainfall students will be allowed to enter their Venues between 9:30 am to 9:45 am. After completion of the routine formalities, if required, examination time may be extended up to 1:30 pm instead of 1:15 pm in the affected areas for today only.” Mumbai University Introduces Three-Months Course on Hip Hop Studies. 

Soon after the commencement of board examinations, the West Bengal Board witnessed back to back Madhyamik question paper leaks, questioning the board’s arrangement to conduct the board papers in the state. After facing huge flak, the West Bengal government has turned down the plea of teachers to allow them to carry mobile phones inside centres during the ongoing class 12 HS board examination to prevent possibilities of question paper leak.
