WBBSE Madhyamik Result 2020: State Board Changes Mark Sheet Distribution Date Amid COVID-19 Lockdown
The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education on Wednesday changed WB Madhyamik Result 2020 mark sheet distribution date. As per the new dates, the mark sheet distribution for Class 10 will now be done on Wednesday and Friday, i.e. July 22 and 24. Earlier, WBBSE had announced that mark sheets will be distributed on July 22 and 23.
Kolkata, July 22: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education changed WB Madhyamik Result 2020 mark sheet distribution date. As per the new dates, the mark sheet distribution for Class 10 will now be done on Wednesday and Friday, i.e. July 22 and 24. Earlier, WBBSE had announced that mark sheets will be distributed on July 22 and 23.
Stating the need for a change in the mark sheet distribution, the WB Board cited the State government's decision to impose total lockdown in the entire state on July 23 and 25. During the mark sheet distribution, 50 per cent of teaching and non-teaching staff of institutes will have to be present on each day, says the notification released by WBBSE. However, those staff living in the containment zones have been exempted from their duty. Releasing a notification about the change of date, Board President Kalyanmoy Ganguly said, as quoted by Times Now, "In view of the distribution of Madhyamik Pariksha results on July 22 and 24 instead of July 23 due to lockdown and also with regard to upcoming admission to class eleven, it is hereby ordered that all teachers and non-teaching staff shall attend school on the above days."
Earlier, the WBSSE had said that it would follow all precautionary norms -- related to COVID-19 -- before the distribution of the mark sheets. Also, all the students and their parents have to follow the social distancing norms too.
On July 15, WB Madhyamik Result 2020 was announced. 10,30,666 lakh students appeared for the examination this year. Out of this, 86.34 per cent of the students passed. The female passing percentage was 83.48 per cent while Male passing percentage was 89.87 per cent.
