UPSC Main Exams 2018: DAF Submission for Civil Services Begin; Apply Online Before Last Date at upsconline.nic.in

After declaring the prelims result 2018, the Union Public Civil Services (UPSC) invited all the qualified candidates to fill in the Detailed Application Form (DAF) for the mains. The procedure has already begun, and the online window to submit DAF form will be open till 6:00 pm August 6, 2018, at upsconline.nic.in. According to the schedule set by the commission, the UPSC Mains 2018 will commence from September 28. In DAF, the candidates will have to put academic achievements including their details of employment (if any), family, income source and so on.

The official notification on the website reads, “The qualified candidate seeking admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination must apply online through the Commission's website (www.upsc.gov.in) by filling the Detailed Application Form (DAF) and uploading the scanned copies of the required document within the prescribed time limit so that DAF is submitted by the applicant on time.” Candidates belonging to the Other Background Classes (OBC) will have fill in the OBC Annexure along with the detailed application form available online. The general category and OBC candidates will have to make a payment of Rs. 200. However, females, PwD and other reserved candidates do not have to pay any fee.

The commission further notified that the last date for paying the DAF application fee is August 5, 2018. To fill in the eight pages, long DAF is one of the most important steps for those who seek to clear UPSC prelims. The candidates must be cautious while doing the same as this form even ask for them of their choice of service and cadre. After clearing the UPSC mains, selected candidates will have to undergo a personal interview to get into the administrative positions in different all-India and civil services including IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS and among others.
