The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the timetable for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) 2018 Main examination on the official website; upsc.gov.in. Those who have cleared the preliminary exam will appear in the mains which will be held in December this year. According to the notification shared on the UPSC site, the IFS recruitment exams will begin on December 2 and will continue till December 10, with two sessions being conducted daily. General English and General Knowledge papers are compulsory, while candidates will have to choose two additional subjects and participate in the tests in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 for those. The results for UPSC IFS Prelims 2018 were declared on July 15. All the candidates who successfully qualified in the exams will have to fill a Detailed Application Form (DAF) in order to be eligible for the Mains. The candidates must also note that the admit cards for IFS Mains December exams will be issued three weeks before the commencement of the examination. A link on the homepage stating, “Examination Time Table: Indian Forest Services (Main) Examination, 2018,” will guide you to the details of the exam along with the dates and shift timings. The paper for General English and General Knowledge will be for 300 marks each with 3 hours duration. On the other hand, the optional subjects are of 200 marks each, and the candidates will be given 3 hours to answer all of them. UPSC under Article 320 of the Constitution of India, the commission is inter-alia matters relating to recruitment to civil servants and posts. IFS December 2017 exams were announced on February 20, and following the traditions, it is expected that this years’ IFS Mains results will be declared during the same time in 2019. Those who clear the Mains will be qualified to the group discussion and personal interview rounds for final selection to the commission.
