UPSC Civil Services Examination Results 2017 Declared: Check Exam Score at upsc.gov.in, Hyderabad's Anudeep Durishetty Tops

New Delhi, April 27: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday declared the final results of civil services examinations conducted for the 2017 batch. Candidates who appeared for the Mains exam in October last year, followed by the personal interview round in February this year, can check their scores online at upsc.gov.in.

A total of 990 candidates have been selected by the UPSC, after considering their performance in both the Mains as well as the personal interview round. The selected candidates will be recommended for appointment to one among the following branches: Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service (IPS) and Central Services - Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.

Hyderabad candidate Anudeep Durishetty has emerged as the topper, followed by Anu Kumari who came second and Sachin Gupta third.

The series of UPSC exams for the 2017 batch begun in June last year. The preliminary examinations were held on June 18, 2017. Those candidates who cleared the prelims were eligible to appear for the Mains on October 28, 2017. The personal interviews were conducted in several batches between January-February, 2018.

The UPSC exams are considered to be most prestigious, as well as most competitive examinations in India. Over 3 lakh candidates appeared in the preliminary rounds. The entire process of evaluation ends up in the selection of the nearly 1,000 among the lakhs of aspirants who apply.
