Top Engineering Colleges in India: IIT Madras, Delhi, Anna University Are Among the Best Institutes Ranked by NIRF 2019
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, IIT Delhi, Anna University are among the best institutes ranked by NIRF. The rankings will help the candidates realise the amount of hard work they need to put in to get through the JEE Main 2020 entrance exam and take secure a seat at these reputed engineering institutes in India.
The Admit Card link for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2020 has been activated. All candidates who are appearing in the first session of JEE Main 2020 are advised to visit the official website; jeemain.nic.in to download the hall tickets. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the JEE Main 2020 from January 6 to January 9. As the exams are knocking the door, here we bring you the top engineering institutes across India, as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2019. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, IIT Delhi, Anna University are among the best institutes ranked by NIRF. The rankings will help the candidates realise the amount of hard work they need to put in to get through the JEE Main 2020 entrance exam and take secure a seat at these reputed engineering institutes in India. According to the NIRF 2019 rankings, here are the top ten engineering colleges in India:
1. IIT Madras
IIT Madras has been managing to stay on the top of NIRF 2019 engineering college rankings for the second consecutive year. The institute’s academic excellence remains constant. The varsity offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees across 16 disciplines in Engineering, Sciences, Humanities and Management.
2. IIT Delhi
In 2018, IIT Delhi was ranked at No. 3. But in just a year, the institute gained the second spot in NRI rankings, giving its students one of the finest educational experience as per the course they apply. Aside from Bachelors in Technology programs, the institute also offers postgraduate programs awarding MTech, M.S., M.Sc., M. Des., MBA under various departments and centres.
3. IIT Bombay
IIT Bombay was at the second spot in NIRF rankings 2018, but in 2019, it slipped to number 3. It is the second-oldest institute of the IIT system. IIT Bombay offers courses of study in engineering, pure sciences, design, management and humanities with a primary focus on engineering. 4. IIT Kharagpur
The ranking for IIT Kharagpur has remained constant. Both in 2018 and 2019, NIRF ranked the institute as the fourth-best engineering colleges in India. The institute’s ranking was not improved or dipped from its ranking. IIT Kharagpur offers a bachelor of Technology (BTech. Hons), Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) and the 5-year integrated Master of Science, among other courses.
5. IIT Kanpur
Like IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur’s NIRF ranking was also not affected. Once again, it managed to be at number 5 in NIRF ranking 2019. The institute offers various courses on management and social sciences.
6. IIT Roorkee
For the second consecutive year, IIT Roorkee secured the 6th position in NIRF ranking. The institute has 21 academic departments covering Engineering, Applied Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management programs.
7. IIT Guwahati
IIT Guwahati is another reputed institute in terms of providing the best academics to the engineering enthusiasts. The institute’s ranking was not improved nor dipped as for like 2018, NIRF 2019 ranked IIT Guwahati in number 7 among other colleges.
8. IIT Hyderabad
In 2018, IIT Hyderabad was ranked number 9. The NIRF Ranking 2019 saw an improvement as it was placed in number 8. The institute offers Undergraduate BTech degrees in nine disciplines of Engineering, MTech degrees in eight disciplines of Engineering, postgraduate and research degrees across all disciplines in Engineering, Sciences and Liberal Arts.
9. Anna University, Chennai
Anna University’s ranking dipped to number 9 from last year’s ranking at number 8. The university offers courses in various programs of engineering and technology through its affiliated colleges and follows a dual semester system.
10. NIT Tiruchirappalli
NIT Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu too made it to the top ten list of best engineering colleges. In 2018, it was ICT Mumbai that was ranked number 10 by NIRF. NIT Trichy offers doctoral degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
These are the top ten engineering institutes in India, as per NIRF rankings. The 2020 list will be released in April. It will be interesting to see which institutes are slated next to be in the top spot of NIRF rankings. Meanwhile, candidates are advised to be attentive during their exam and give their best shot to secure a seat at any of these reputed institutes.
