New Delhi, September 4: On the occasion of Teacher's Day, President Droupadi Murmu is set to confer the National Teachers’ Award 2023 upon 75 exemplary educators from across the country. The award ceremony will take place at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi and is organised by the Department of School Education & Literacy under the Ministry of Education. The National Teachers’ Award is a prestigious recognition aimed at celebrating the exceptional contributions of teachers who have not only enhanced the quality of education but have also positively impacted the lives of their students through unwavering dedication and commitment. Each of the deserving awardees will be honoured with a certificate of merit, a cash award of Rs 50,000, and a silver medal. The selection process for these awards incorporated online nominations, encouraging widespread public participation and recognised creative teaching methods, impactful research, community engagement, and outstanding contributions to education. This year's National Teachers’ Award recipients come from diverse educational backgrounds, with 50 teachers from schools, 13 from higher education, and 12 from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship being honoured for their exceptional dedication to teaching and learning.
