SSC CHSL Recruitment 2019–20: Fake Appointment Letters Circulated Online, Central Agency Alerts SSC Candidates
Several candidates have received fake letters of appointment as Postal Assistant or Sorting Assistant in various government departments and ministries. Tweeting the fake letter, the central agency alerted the SSC candidates and urged not to believe in such and instead check their qualification status from the official website of SSC.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is currently accepting applications for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) level recruitment examination. Amid the ongoing registrations, it has come into the notice that several candidates have received fake letters of appointment as Postal Assistant or Sorting Assistant in various government departments and ministries. Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check Twitter handle clarified that such appointment letters are fake. The letters were related to the CHSL exam, which was circulated online. Tweeting the fake letter, the central agency alerted the SSC candidates and urged not to believe in such and instead check their qualification status from the official website of SSC; ssc.nic.in. SSC had recently announced the final result for CHSL 2017 and is currently in the process of completing 2018 recruitment. For any government recruitment, candidates are advised to rely on official websites only. Any important notification is always updated on the respective web portal. Besides, they are also advised to examine the appointment letters or applications. Unauthorised letters usually have spelling errors, grammatical mistakes and even use fake names. Candidates must be cautious while coming across such instances and not fall prey to fake notifications.
