The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will increase the number of vacancies for Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) and Technicians by over 100 per cent. Indian Railways officially notified the same on RRB’s website; rrbajmer.gov.in. While the recruitment exam is knocking every aspirant’s mind, RRB decided to increase about 60,000 job vacancies. The official notification shared by the Chairpersons of RRB reads, “Earlier 26,502 vacancies have been notified for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and Technicians. These vacancies are likely to be increased to about 60,000 vacancies.” The exam to hire over 90,000 candidates for Group C, D is slated to hold on August 9. This year, in March, RRB released two notifications for the biggest recruitment drive ever for ALP and Technician positions. The officials said that the railway-wise vacancies are temporary, and these may increase or decrease. Although, with the recent announcement it seems that the number will inevitably go up. It is reported that the updated vacancy table will be published online after the completion of the first stage exam. RRB requested the candidates to keep a tab with the official websites of RRB for regular updates. In CEN 01/2018, the number of vacancies advertised for ALP and Technicians was 26,502. For CEN 01/2018 and CEN O2/2018, over 90,000 job vacancies are advertised in which reportedly over 2.5 crores applied.
According to the data released by Indian Railways, each candidate shall have to compete with 279 other candidates to achieve a single post. The first stage of the online computer-based test will begin on August 9, and for the first time, popular tech company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will conduct them on behalf of Indian Railways. The admit card for the same is expected to release soon, at least four days before the day of the exam.
