The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is conducting one of the largest recruitment drives in the nation for the recruitment of eligible candidates in Group C and D department. Keeping up its tradition the board is conducting the exam in phases and releasing the admit card four days prior to the computer-based test (CBT). However, Gujarat candidates might get affected since RRB is likely to postpone the exam following widespread violence in the state. Quoting media reports, the Indian Railways is looking at the situation and has further instructed the regional centres in Gujarat to note this and report accordingly. Indian Railways to Release Fresh Exam Date for Strike-Hit Kolkata Candidates. 

On September 28, a 14-year-old girl was raped by a man from Bihar in Sabarkantha district, Gujarat. This incident triggered rage among the citizens which led to violence in the state. As of now, lakhs of migrant workers from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh was forced to evacuate the state. The CPO of Northern Railway, Angaraj Mohan said, “The board is monitoring the situations in Gujarat closely and has also instructed the regional centres in Gujarat on this note. Till now, we have received few representations from candidates, the dates will be deferred if candidates are unable to appear for the examination.” Hence, the candidates in Gujarat are advised to keep a tab on the official website of RRB Group D Ahmedabad; rrbadmedabad.gov.in for any updates related to Group D examinations.

RRB has been serious and took stern steps in the benefit of the students. In September, the board had to reschedule the exams in Kerala due to flood and in Odisha because of Adivasi Bandh. At very recent, Indian Railways had also cancelled Group D exams for strike-hit Kolkata candidates and will announce the new exam date for the same any time soon.
