RRB Group D Recruitment 2018: Indian Railways to Release Fresh Exam Date for Strike-Hit Kolkata Candidates at rrbcdg.gov.in

Due to strike hit in the West Bengal on September 26, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Group D exam was cancelled. RRB will soon announce a fresh date for the bandh-affected candidates in Kolkata. In a notice released by the conducting body, the new re-exam dates for the candidates will be intimated after October 16, 2018, on the official as well as the regional website—rrbcdg.gov.in, rrbkolkata.gov.in. The candidates are recommended to keep a tab on the Indian Railways web portals to stay updated on the same. Besides, RRB will also share reschedule CBT date and venue through registered email and SMS. Indian Railways Recruitment 2018 Application: Central Railway to Conduct Walk-In Job Interviews to Recruit Senior Residents. 

The notification for CEN 02/ 2018 Level 1 posts reads, “All the candidates who were scheduled to appear in the Computer Based Test (CBT) in West Bengal on 26-09-2018 but could not appear due to the Bandh in the State, shall be given an opportunity to appear in the CBT after 16-10-2018. These candidates shall be intimated about the rescheduled date and venue through website, e-mail and SMS.” The West Bengal Bandh on September 26 was to protest against the killing of two men in Islampur which continued for 12 hours leading to the damage of vehicles and blockage of roads. Many students could not reach the exam centre, followed by which RRB had decided to give another opportunity to those who missed the Group D CBT.

Meanwhile, the Indian Railways have released the admit card for the October 11 exam on the official and regional websites for candidates to download. RRB is conducting the recruitment exams to fill in more than 60,000 vacancies in Level 1 posts.
