New Delhi, July 12: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has activated the link for all the candidates to check their application status for Group C and Erstwhile Group D (Group C Level 1) posts under Centralized Employment Notice CEN 01/2018 and CEN 02/2018 as per 7th Pay Commission (7th CPC). The applicants can check their application status online by July 20, 2018, on the official website of RRB; indianrailways.gov.in.

There are multiple vacancies that fall under Group C Level I (Erstwhile Group D) jobs. The Railway Group D employees get Level 01 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix with an initial pay of Rs 18,000. These are the posts that come under Group D:

  • Cabinman

  • Keyman

  • Fitter

  • Leverman

  • Gangman

  • Pointsman

  • Group D – Store

  • Porter

  • Group D – Engg

  • Shunter

  • Helper-II (Electrical)

  • Switchman

  • Helper-II (Mechanical)

  • Trackman

  • Helper-II (S & T)

  • Welder

This year, about 1.5 crore candidates applied for over 89,000 posts under Group C and Group D in Indian Railways. The exams for these jobs will be held from August to September 2018. Earlier the examinations for the same were supposed to be conducted in April or May.

RRB is yet to announce the examination date for the advertised posts. For the available openings, the candidates will be selected on the basis of a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The questions will be provided in 15 different languages to ensure opportunities for aspirants across India.
