The toll in cyclone Gaja is only increasing and severely affected the districts of Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Dindigul and Pudukkottai. People are still grappling with the aftermath of the cyclone along with the efforts to restore normal life. All the schools and educational institutes have cancelled their classes and exams due to the disastrous situation at Tamil Nadu. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) have also cancelled the exam after reports of cyclone Gaja affecting exam centres in the state sparked the headlines. RRB will announce the new dates of RRB Group D exam 2018 for the Tamil Nadu candidates soon on its official website; rrbcdg.gov.in and other regional websites. Indian Railways scheduled to end the exams on December 17, 2018. But because of the natural calamities in Tamil Nadu, the conclusion of the exams will be extended till the end of December. Students are advised to keep a tab on the website of Indian Railways for related updates. Last week, RRB had to reschedule the exam dates for Odisha state which was cancelled due to cyclone Titli in October. RRB is conducting the exams to recruit about 62,907 Group D positions. Meanwhile, RRB has released the admit card for November 22 exam, and the candidates can download the same from the official website of the board. Apart from RRB, Anna University and Puducherry University too postponed their exams because of the devastation caused by cyclone Gaja. While Anna University has released the re-schedule dates of the exams, Puducherry University is yet to announce the fresh dates soon. Reportedly, the death toll due of the cyclone Gaja has mounted to 45.
