The Rajasthan University is undergoing with recruiting eligible candidates for its various openings. They are in urgent need of Deputy Registrar too. However, the University is struggling to find a suitable candidate for the available positions. According to reports, after failing to find and recruiting one from among those who had cleared the written examination, the Rajasthan University has now invited those who did not clear the exam. At present, RU is in the process of finalising candidates for five vacant positions of Deputy Registrar.
On May 15, the online examination for the recruitment of Deputy Registrar was held and July 24, the results for the same were announced. According to TOI, out of 400 applicants, only 109 had participated in the written examination. On July 31, the qualified candidates were invited for the document verification, but university authorities rejected most of them, days before the personal interviews were scheduled, which is August 3 and 4. The authorities claimed that they did not find anyone suitable enough for the position.
They have invited the remaining 59 candidates who had failed to clear the written examination and document verification. The list of 59 would be examined, and those who are found eligible will be called for the interview. A senior official further confirmed that if the authorities do not come across any suitable candidate, then the examination will be conducted again. On the other hand, aspirants shared dissatisfaction over the recent decision.
Ravi Sharma, one of the participants and among the top scorers, was quoted in the same report saying, “At the time of document verification, I was rejected without being given a reason. The fact that the authorities have called those who have failed the written exam shows that they have already decided on the candidate. The entire selection is a farce.”
The Rajasthan University is suffering due to a shortage of teachers for a long time now. Before they begin with the new session, the varsity urged to finish their recruitment procedure. They went through a postponement last month after the University Grants Commission (UGC) last month stopped the recruitment process in all colleges and universities across the country.
